General Description of Month To Date Sensitivity
1. Sometimes the current month to date sales is greater than forecast.
2. This can happen early on in the month. When set to recognize this event :
3. Focus Forecasting® can adjust the current month forecast.
4. This recognizes the event but does not exagerate the impact for the coming year.
Technical Details of Month To Date Sensitivity
1. In the example below , MyGate Focus Forecasting® forecasts 74 for the current month.
2. The mtd sensitivity is set in the ffcfg.txt : *MTD SENSITIVE*1*@
3. So Focus Forecasting adjusts the forecast to the month to date number:
4. This increases the sales per week for this month from 18.5 to 42 per week.
5. This recognizes the MTD sales event but does not exagerate it.
6. If the month to date is the highest sales in the past year ,
7. Focus Forecasting® considers it a sales spike ,
8. and uses the next highest month in the past year as the forecast.
