| 1. Overall a company usually has a distribution of business by month. |
| 2. Items are added. Items are discontinued. Sales go up and sales go down. |
| 3. But the % of business overall by month for the total company stays fairly consistent. |
| 4. Focus ForecastingŪ can forecast items that display seasonal historic patterns. |
| 5. Many items however display no seasonality. |
| 6. New items usually do not display usable seasonality. |
| 7. For these items Focus ForecastingŪspreads the yearly forecast by month. |
| 8. It uses this hierarchy : |
| -- Calculated : The seasonality used is this item's previous year of sales. |
| -- Item : The seasonality is specified for this item. |
| -- Vendor : The seasonality is specified for this vendor. |
| -- Company : The seasonality is calculated for the overall company. |

| 1. If a seasonal formula is selected , use this item's last year sales to calculated seasonality. |
| 2. If an item's seasonality is specified , use these monthly % to calculated seasonality. |
| 3. If a vendor's seasonality is specified , use these monthly % to calculated seasonality. |
| 4. Otherwise use the company's monthly % to calculated seasonality. |
| 5. Item seasonality can be calculated by product class or family. |
| 6. Vendor seasonality can also be calculated. |
